THE PORTRAIT PROCESS
The Successful Portrait Process is a Collaboration
More
than any other art form, a successful portrait is a close, continual
collaboration
between the artist and the subject/client, resulting in a successful,
treasured portrait.
Selection
of the Perfect Artist is of Utmost Importance
Ann
Fader, president and founder of Portrait
Consultants, has unparalleled experience
in guiding clients through each step to the perfect portrait.
The process begins with an
in-depth conversation to discuss the client's portrait needs -
either in the comfort of the
client's home or office, or by telephone (if more convenient).
Ann Fader offers this uniquely
personalized service to fully learn about the client's specific
requirements and preferences.
Discussion will include:
-
the purpose of the portrait
- the kind of portrait desired
- the preferred painting style
- the appropriate framing
- the display requirements
A
hallmark of Portrait Consultants
is Ann Fader's ability to guide each client to an informed decision
with great care and thoughtfulness. Each client reviews samples
of the various artists' painting styles, with the confidence that
they are choosing from the select, finest portrait artists in
the industry. The ultimate decision is carefully made, assuring
that the portrait artist best suited to achieve the client's individual
portrait goals is chosen.
Portrait Consultants Represents Only the Very Finest Portrait
Artists
Once
the artist is selected, Ann Fader will then arrange an initial
sitting for the artist and the subject to get acquainted and discuss
in detail the various possibilities of poses, composition, attire
and any effects that will serve to personalize the portrait. The
artist will take photographs of the subject in various poses and
may even do a sketch for coloring and later reference.
The
artist and subject then review the photographs to refine the possibilities
for the pose and details for the background.
Some
artists may request additional sittings as they work. Life sittings
afford the artist the benefit of getting to know the subject better,
and afford the subject the excitement of watching his or her portrait
come to life.
If
additional sittings are inconvenient, the artist will arrange
to send a photograph or sketch of the portrait in progress.
The subject is also welcome to visit the artist's studio.
Final
approval of the portrait is arranged at the convenience of the
subject.
Ann Fader works with each client all the way through the framing
and display process.

Consultants also represents portrait specialists who
